STARFLEET SECURITY CLEARANCES
Starfleet security clearances were first established in August 2136 through the issuance of Starfleet Administrative Order #9. The original Starfleet Security clearances were granted in five separate levels, by the early 2140s several clearances were also issued with an "Alpha Enhancement" for access to additional information. A sixth clearance level was added in 2145.
LEVEL ONE
Also known as "Entry Level Clearance One" - Required as a minimum for membership in the Starfleet
LEVEL TWO
Access level required for viewing most Starfleet material pertaining to Starfleet operations
LEVEL TWO ALPHA
Also known as "Administrative Clearance". Upgrade of Level Two clearance to include access to privacy information and personal data contained in Starfleet records
LEVEL THREE
Also known as "Secret Clearance". Required for viewing most classified material of the Starfleet
LEVEL THREE ALPHA
Also known as "Secret-PII Clearance". Upgrade of Level Three clearance to include Personally Identifiable Information concerning Starfleet members and their immediate families
LEVEL FOUR
Also known as "Top Secret Clearance". Required for viewing sensative classified material of the Starfleet
LEVEL FOUR ALPHA
Security clearance originally reserved for Starfleet Commodores, expanded in 2145 to include senior Captains of major Starfleet offices
LEVEL FOUR BETA
Established in 2145 as the new security clearance for all Starfleet Commodores
LEVEL FIVE
Created in 2137 as a security clearance to be held by Starfleet Rear Admirals
LEVEL SIX
Created in 2145 as a security clearance for the Starfleet Chief of Staff
