Military Covert Intelligence Training is a 60-week course that was first offered to Starfleet personnel in the summer of 2147. The course is a cross-training instruction offered by Military Covert Intelligence Operations (MCIO) at the MCIO headquarters and training academy in Berlin, Germany. The introduction to the course covers reporting, collection management, and intelligence fundamentals as well as alien political systems and interstellar collection doctrine. Counter-intelligence and insurgency training focuses on separatist movements, underground networks, and pirate smuggling. The course also contains a brief legal overview of lawful intelligence gathering and jurisdictional limits. The final portion of the course is field intelligence operations which includes source handling, surveillance, covert reporting, and hostile environment operations.
