The Starfleet Radioman Rate Training Course was established in September 2146, shortly after the creation of the Starfleet Radioman Rate. The first Crewman holding the rate of Radioman were cross assigned from the previous rate of Scientist’s Mate while newly promoted Crewman from Basic Training were briefly held in a training status while the rate course was designed. The Radioman Rate Training Course covers fundamental education concerning the operation of space-based radios, computer networks, and translation-interface operations. Students are also taught the basics of communication equipment repair and auxiliary space communication system operations.
