The Starfleet Shipyard Management Course was established in November 2148 to replace a temporary five-month shipyard administration program previously conducted by the United Earth Space Probe Agency. Taught at the Starfleet Engineering College, the course provides comprehensive instruction in the administration and management of space vessel dockyard operations and prepares students for service as professional shipyard officers. The course concludes with a professional certification examination and issuance of the Dock Officer Certification.
