Delta Vega is a small planetoid on the outer boundary of the 40 Eridani system’s habitable zone for humanoid life. The planet receives very little sunlight and as a result is a permanent arctic world covered in ice and snow. The planet was first visited by Vulcan explorers some one thousand years ago but was never seriously developed as a colony.

The only permanent inhabitants of Delta Vega are small teams of Vulcan scientists operating from protected outposts in order to study the harsh climate and arctic wilderness of Delta Vega. The Vulcan military also maintains an arctic survival school on the world as well as a small military base.
Delta Vega is a small planet locked in a reciprocating orbit between Vulcan and its sister planet T’Kuht. As a result, once every thirty five years, Delta Vega orbits close enough to Vulcan to be seen from the surface and technically, for a brief period, is classified as one of Vulcan’s moons. The planet has very little life, with only the most ferocious of creatures (such as the Arctic Hengrauggi) able to survive in the frozen environment.
