Luna (also known as "The Moon") is the only natural satellite of Earth and the first extra solar world visited by the human race. The first manned moon landing occurred in 1969, followed by various follow-up missions in the 1970s. A return to the Moon was accomplished by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 2027, however further moon missions were suspended due to the escalation of the Third World War. Moon missions would resume in the 2060s with the first lunar colony of New Berlin established in 2067.

Over the next several decades, additional lunar colonies were established in addition to an industrial colony known simply as the Lunar One Colony. An attempt was also made to set up a permanent mining facility by the Orpheus Mining Corporation, but by 2132 the mining complex had been abandoned.
The original New Berlin Colony
In 2113, the United Earth Space Probe Agency established the Lunaport Colony as both a port for lunar space traffic and to house the UESPA Warp Astronaut Training Facility, often known simply as "Flight School" due the on-site warp pilot training complex.
Domed cities on the moon are self-governed autonomous territories; however, the United Earth Bureau of Colonization sets broad reaching policies with the moon itself considered essentially a colony of Earth.
