Vulcan

Tel-Alep is a desert world highly similar to Vulcan which was settled by Vulcan colonists in approximately 1000AD (Earth Calendar). The planet has virtually no surface water, leading most settlements to congregate around the planet’s various mountain ranges to make use of underground rivers and springs as well as natural geothermal energy.

Tel-Alep is currently the location of several medium sized Vulcan cities which function as an industrial base to mine deep minerals and other rare resources from under the planetary crust. The planet hosts several religious monasteries, most of which are fringe splinter groups from the more well establish Kolinahr sects on Vulcan. In more recent years Tel-Alep has developed a reputation for harboring Vulcan criminal elements, mostly separatist groups rejecting logic or groups which oppose Vulcan’s contact with other worlds.

The Hebrezen Mountains, which contact a vast cavern network, offer a tantalizing location for such groups to operate with near impunity. While local authorities condemn such groups, little enforcement action is taken due to Tel-Alep’s harsh climate and a general difficulty in seeking out such elements. Authorities on Vulcan typically only become involved if the groups in question commit off world terrorist attacks or engage in interstellar criminal enterprises.

The Hebrezen Moutains are a haven for fringe religious sects and criminal elements.
