ZEFRAM COCHRANE SPACE FLIGHT CENTER

(Starfleet Engineering Complex)

The Zefram Cochrane Space Flight Center, officially known as Starfleet Engineering Complex, was formally opened on February 17, 2140, as the headquarters for Starfleet Engineering as well as a flight-testing facility capable of launching experimental warp craft into Earth orbit.  The first warp test ship, the Type 3 Warp Test Craft, was constructed in March 2141.  In June 2142, construction began on a new series of  buildings to house additional scientific facilities.  The Starfleet Engineering Complex was rededicated on November 28, 2142 as the Zefram Cochrane Space Flight Center; in addition to the tenant offices, a small staff oversees the day-to-day running of the facility.
