Al Rijil is the outermost planet of the Alpha Centauri star system and the only planet of the Alpha Centauri-Alpha Proxima star system to support native life.

The planet Al Rijil is inhabited by a native race which United Earth scientists simply refer to as the Centaurians. The planet possesses rudimentary early space travel with a social rating of approximately Earth equivalent to 1995. By scientific agreement between the various Earth nations and Vulcan, a quarantine zone exists around Al Rijil to allow the society there to develop naturally.
Port Centauri is a waystation of the Earth Cargo Service
The Alpha Centauri star system is considered a potential for colonization but to date no Earth colonies have been established. The one space station in the system, Port Centauri, is a small outpost and avoids contact with the indigenous Centaurians on Al Rijil.
