Rigelian

Rigel VI is an industrial and agricultural colony of the Rigelian Consortium, established in the mid-1900s and has since become the main supplier of grain products and consumer goods to the planet Rigelia.

The surface of Rigel VI consists of bio pools, phosphorous vegetation, and deep oceans

Rigel VI, known to its inhabitants as Beratis, is a world of approximately 85 million inhabitants. The planet has few cities, with most of the population working in agrarian sectors or in industrial complexes located near resource deposits in the planet’s various mountain ranges. The planet is considered a colony of the Rigelian Consortium whose primary purpose is to export food and other goods.

The colony of Rigel VI was founded in the 19th century using mostly standard sub-light colonization ships from Rigelia. The most heavily settled areas lie in coastal flat regions where farming can take advantage of hydroponic engineering. The two moons of Rigel VI, which hold a close orbit over the planet, cause various tidal forces which allow for an abundance of natural energy. Elsewhere on the planet, rich ore and mineral deposits in the planet’s various mountain ranges provide a wealth of trade goods and manufactured products. Approximately 80 percent of goods are exported, mostly to Rigelia but also to the trading colony of Rigel X.
