Rigelians are the predominant intelligent lifeform of the Beta Rigel star system and possess a physiology similar to that of the Vulcans, suggesting an ancient common origin. Rigelians are easily identified by their distinctive facial markings and greyish-brown skin tone. Most Rigelians also braid their hair in elaborate designs, often associated with social status. Like the Vulcans, Rigelians possess limited telepathic abilities, though to a much lesser degree.
