Rigel VII is a rocky and mostly barren world that is inhabited by a bronze age race known as the Kalar. Due to its inhospitable nature, the planet had been left uncoloized by outside stellar powers.

Both Rigel VII and its moon Chevloc hold an associated orbit with Rigel VIII, a small ringed gas giant that maintains a fixed position, allowing it to remain continuously visible from the surface of Rigel VII. The planet Rigel VII is not united and consists of several warring tribal clans of the Kalar.
