Rigel VII is a rocky and mostly barren world that is inhabited by a bronze age race known as the Kalar. Due to its inhospitable nature, Rigelia has never established a colony on the planet.

Rigel VII is an inhospitable world of mountain ranges and dry rock, with little vegetation or water sources. The planet is considered a protectorate of the Rigelian Trade Consortium, due to the presence of the Bronze Age race the Kalar, and there are no established colonies on the surface. Travel to Rigel VII is considered dangerous to the aggression of the Kalar who generally attack all outsiders on site. Rigel VII and its moon Chevloc form a tightly bound co-orbital system. Chevloc orbits at an exceptionally low altitude, causing it to dominate the sky and appear to fill much of the horizon from the surface.
Both Rigel VII and Chevloc hold an associated orbit with Rigel VIII, a small ringed gas giant that maintains a fixed relative position to the system, allowing it to remain continuously visible from the surface of Rigel VII. The planet Rigel VII is not united and consists of several warring tribal clans of the Kalar.
