The Denobulan Unity was formed in the early twentieth century following four centuries of Denobula functioning as an oppressive autocratic dictatorship. During the previous government’s rule, Denobula waged several wars and was known for employing tactics which killed millions as well as conducting medical experiments on enemy prisoners. The Denobulan Unity was formed to establish a more peaceful society and since then has been the governing authority for all of Denobula.

Denobula’s history is pocketed with periods which the Denobulans themselves have stated “were not our finest hour”. After discovering warp drive in the 15th century, by the 1800s Denobula had been involved in several wars with its neighbors with documented reports of medical experiments on prisoners and other war crimes. The Denobulans also heavily experiment with genetic engineering in the 20th century, although Denobula generally avoided the negative consequences often associated with this branch of science.
PLANETARY GOVERNMENT
The planet Denobula is governed by a unique four branch system in which an executive branch exists equally with the judiciary, representatives from the armed forces, and an elected legislature of representatives from the various Denobulan mega-cities. A central private council of government serves to coordinate major government decisions and is also empowered to enact emergency decrees.
