The Deltan Union is a democratic space republic on the edge of Sector 001, located north on the galactic plane from Denobula Triaxa and bordering the region of space known as the Delphic Expanse.

The Deltan Union was founded in the seventeenth century and is a true direct democracy where all decisions and government policies are conducted through direct vote by the population. To administer government executive action, a Presidium Cabinet, headed by a Prime Minister, is elected every twelve years.
The homeworld of the Deltan Union is Delta IV (known also as Dhei) with the capitol in the city of Carrea. The planet is a lush jungle world with oceans caked in algae, releasing nitrogen byproducts into the atmosphere and giving the planet a distinctly greenish colored appearance.

The Deltan Union maintains two colony worlds inside their star system (Delta II and Delta III, as well as the Fomalhaut Colony in a neighboring star system. The Deltan homeworld also possesses two moons (Cinera and Seyann) which are uninhabited except for a small number of mining and scientific outposts.
Deltan cities are renowned for their grandeur and peaceful splendor, with Delta IV considered an extremely peaceful and beautiful world, with virtually no strife or crime. The native Deltans inhabit large glistening cities which also serve as centers of culture, science, and the arts. The planet does not possess a civil court system, since disputes are settled by communities of Deltans forming ad-hoc mediation councils.

HISTORY
The history of Dhei (Delta IV) dates back approximately four thousand years, however very little is known concerning Deltan pre-history with no archaeological evidence of habitation on Delta IV from that time. This had led to theories that the Deltans may have “seeded” on the world by an advanced civilization, and were possibly genetically engineered for procreativity, given the high pheromone production in the Deltan species and an overwhelming urge to reproduce.
The Deltan Union lies on the edge of galactic space lanes, with trade ties to Denobula dating back seveal centuries.made first contact with the United Earth after visiting the planet Vega IX in the 2130s. In 2142, a formal Deltan delegation was sent to Earth and afterwards Earth and the Deltan Union have enjoyed a prosperous trade agreement.
The Deltan Union historically does not possess an interstellar military or space fleet but does maintain a planetary defense force consisting of an infantry, naval, and air service branch.

The Deltan Special Forces Corps is a notable exception to the pacifist nature of the Deltan Union, with the Deltan special force operators considered extremely well trained and highly effective.
