The United Earth is the world government of the planet Earth, first formed in 2134 by the Paris Signature Accords in an attempt to unify the planet following the devastation of World War III seventy years before. Upon the founding of the United Earth, there were six nations which had proposed world government membership to their respective legislatures but had not yet voted on the measure. An additional five countries had declared neutrality and declined to join the world government.
The head of the United Earth is a Prime Minister who serves as both Chief Executive and President of the Earth Congress, which is comprised of voting members from several muti-national countries, themselves comprised of smaller nations with their own elected governments.

Under the Bureau of Colonization, the United Earth is also the overseeing government for the colonial administration of Mars and Luna, although in both of those cases the local governments are generally allowed to operate with autonomy. The United Earth government also holds a territorial claim to the moons Europa and Titan, both of which host United Earth bases and facilities, as well as the asteroid Ceres which hosts a small mining station.
The United Earth Space Probe Agency is the scientific exploration branch of the world government while planetary defense is provided by the United Earth Military.
The United Earth Military is organized into five operational branches, coordinated by a joint military staff. The Military Assault Command Operations (MACO) is considered the space marine branch of the military.

Organization of the United Earth Military
Nations which are not part of the United Earth typically maintain their own armed forces. Member states may also maintain militaries, but typically only in a ceremonial function. A notable exception is the Royal Navy, itself considered an auxiliary to the United States Navy, which conducts extensive sea patrols across Earth's oceans.
